Carry On might be playing two final shows, but Snake Eyes is just breaking out of their shell. That's what snakes do. Featuring Todd Jones and Corey williams on guitar, both from Carry On, and Beau from Donnybrook on the microphone, it'd be impossible for the product to be bad. Continuing from where "A Life Less Plagued" broke off, Snake Eyes is able to play a heavy style of youth crew, focusing on the negative side of things. Gone are the singalongs and straight edge lyrics, now replaced with solos and even more hateful lyrics. Well, one solo. "Stake Your Claim" displays this glorious moment. The melody in "Said And Done" adds some diversity to the heavyness, keeping things from sounding mundane.
My only complaint is that the mixing sounds a little rushed with some of the volumes sounding awkwardly loud/quiet. For instance, the pick slide at the end of "Alone Again" is too quiet. But it is only a demo. So that's okay. Just be prepared to slither once 1917 releases the Snake Eyes full length.
