Sabertooth Zombie

Demo

Recorded on

A motherfucking pissed off Tyrannosaurus Rex. That's right, a T-Rex that's pissed the fuck off. His name is Cody and he yells about the undead, kids who suck, radio rock and other things that dinosaurs have never contemplated pre/post-extinction. Like these big boned creatures though, the music Cody tramples splintered floors to is hardcore.

Stepping away from the carnivorous dinosaur metaphor, Sabertooth Zombie plays a non-aggressive style of hardcore. You got your fast parts. You got your kind of fast parts. I'm sure if you're from Boston you could even get low. There's more of a rock, without the roll, feel to it. You won't find fancy solos, but the driving force is still somewhat present. With members of Life Long Tragedy, These Days, Jumpstreet, and Days To Streaks you know the tunes are going to be enjoyed.

While at times StZ does splurge into the hating-of-wack-ass-people type lyrics (Fuck you I don't like you/You got gross breath and a shitty attitude/This reminds me of a fucking track meet/When you're there it's just to compete) they also do less literal writings. Take for example the song "Fragments," (This is radio smash hammer to waves/Pants on backwards pisshole ass/This is what you saved?/I can learn from your blue light/Take these bandages from my eyes/The blue light drips into fucking blood/Forcing down tragic lives). It's the last song on the demo with the most unique sound and lyrics. I'd presume this is because it's the newest song they wrote that's on the demo.

It's a hardcore demo so you might not find the most original aspects in the 7 songs present. I've heard their upcoming split with Jumpstreet though and that paves more of its own ground. Fred Flintstone and George Romero would be proud.
