With members of Donnybrook, Final Fight, and More To Pride, it'd be hard to fuck up a hardcore demo. Instead of sounding like any of those mentioned bands, Like It Or Not goes with a Lockin Out (Mental, Jaguarz, etc.) style with groovy songs consisting of sick rhymes that you can get down to. It's done well enough so that it doesn't sound like a cheap knockoff, but instead like something people from Boston would call "wicked."
The demo starts off with slow (not chugging) hardcore. Martini (of Donnybrook) spits out shoutouts and then proceeds to dive into the song. By the end of the song, he lets you know, "You may not approve, but what the fuck you gonna do?/Like It Or Not crew, we're coming for you." My favorite part is right before the breakdown in "Lion's Den" when Martini sings, "LION CREW. FREAK OUT!" and proceeds to make laughing noises. The music does have a heavy edge to it that's influenced by bands like Think I Care. It's angry, but at the same time I could see the shows being fun and not all violent. Throughout the demo the instrumentation is really tight, which could be a result of Final Fight and More To Pride kicking ass.
If you like hardcore that'll tell you to "BUST," like it or not, Like It Or Not is for you.
