Let Me Run have announced that they parted ways with vocalist and guitarist Travis Omilian over the Summer. The band have found a replacement in the form of Dan Maxwell. The band had this to say of their changes:
The addition of Dan into the band has given us a seriously new direction. After we released Meet Me at the Bottom we weren't really pleased with the outcome. Nothing sounded like we wanted it to. We loved the songs, but they seemed oversaturated. With Dan now, there's more of openness and collaborative feeling with writing these songs. They are hashed out and streamlined until everyone is happy with the outcome. It’s reinvigorated some of our material off of MMATB. Since our first practice with Dan, I've never heard "Shane" played better. It's great. As for Travis leaving the band, I really am not going to dive into why he left or what he told us or anyone else about the situation. It's really no one’s business but ours and his. But there is no situation anymore, we've moved on and are better off because of it.
In other news, the band will be heading into The Machine Shop in November to record a new EP for release on Paper + Plastick Records. The album is currently slated for an early 2010 release. You can hear a demo version of a new song titled "Scared as Shit" here.
