Slap the Culture

Slap the Culture

Fast pissed off old school hardcore from Japan. Sounds straight from the American Hardcore soundtrack with a better production. It's speedy, furious, and somewhat entertaining. For some reason this is what I expect when I hear people talking about Japanese hardcore. This stems from the fact the only two Japanese hardcore bands I've heard (That was before Michael sent me the Cock Suck back catalog in for review) was Total Fury and GISM. I like Slap the Culture more than I ever expected I would. Sixteen tracks and hardly any of them over a minute. Horrible artwork and simple lyrics included. Slap the Culture is charming with their spazzed out way old school style of hardcore.

Musically tight and lyrically inventive, Pittsburgh, PA-based, self-proclaimed “slacker rock” group Girl Scout seems to draw inspiration from various indie rock groups of the ‘90s and early 2000s - it ...
