SPB: What inspired you to start a new record label in 2024?

Sneak Dog: When Dog Party finished recording our seventh record, we sat and really thought about different ways we could release it. We were leaning towards releasing it ourselves. We knew that our friend Lizzie Killian (Teens in Trouble) also wanted to start her own label eventually, so we proposed the idea to all start one together. We are thrilled to be joining forces, where we can expand this project’s potential to new heights.

We were inspired to start Sneak Dog Records because we reached a point in our musical careers where we wanted to start doing things our way. There are so many great examples of musicians with this ethos -- people from Jack White to Jeff Rosenstock. There are so many creative elements that can be entertained by starting a label, releasing music is only part of it. Establishing an aesthetic and making the entire entity a work of art is so very cool and special. We would also love to start releasing music from bands that we love and build a community. We are so excited to see where Sneak Dog Records will go!
