Chicago's The Bigger Empty have announced the upcoming Lakes & Oceans Vol 1: Michigan, the first of four EPs to be released quarterly on La Escalera Records through 2017.

“The overall theme of this project is about relationships, mostly romantic relationships but not entirely,” frontman Mike Felumlee (Smoking Popes) says via press release. “I’ve found that the ups and downs through our various relationships in our lives resemble the movements of great bodies of water. Sometimes they’re peaceful and calm and everything is great and beautiful. Other times they can be turbulent, terrifying and even dangerous.”

Vol 1 will release on Feb. 24.

Track Listing:
1. By Its Own (So What)
2. All Mixed Up
3. Sleepy Head
4. Take My Heart with You
5. Parachute
