The Dream Is Dead guitarist passes away

The Dream Is Dead guitarist Jared Southwick, 34, passed away earlier this month from a liver and kidney condition, for which he had recently been hospitalized. Southwick, who also played in Indiana death metal band Harakiri, was laid to rest in Muncie, IN.

The band has announced their final show, to be played at this year's Dude Fest. Bassist David Lawson explains:

Thanks for all the memories, and thanks to everyone whoever booked us and put us up, out just put up with us. The Dream Is Dead will obviously be no more, but longtime tdiddy compadre and member carl byers will play us out for our last show at dude fest 2011.
