Boston's Somos have announced the upcoming release of its third album, Prison On A Hill, but also tragic news along with the new record. The band's guitarist Phil Haggerty, age 28, passed away this month.

Prison On A Hill is yet to release, but the band opened a window pre-release in which all proceeds go to Haggerty's family to cover funeral expenses.

In a simple but sincere statement, the band says"

We lost our dearest friend and guitarist Phil Haggerty earlier today. He was an immensely caring friend and an all around beautiful person, and he is gone far too soon.

Phil Haggerty forever.

Prison On A Hill will release this fall on Tiny Engines. It was recorded with Jay Maas.

Phil participated in SPB's 1QI series in 2014 here.
