Iceland (?) owns SPB

Posted by Matt on May 4, 2004

In a bizarre twist of fate, Icelandic (we think?) website taflan.org linked us with a comment in icelandic. After a rigorous translation session, we discovered the following based on their post: "Perhaps infinitesimal too hip *" pay lip service to my tasteless , while copper be allowed own a a copper go over víann pitch and kovera allskonar formulate and blbrygi. Is lacking additional hc and dot intone , ouch." We're not sure quite what this means, but the last sentence in particular sounds fairly crushing. We tried translating again, only to generate a disturbingly erotic version: "Perhaps slightly too hip *" pay lip service to my tasteless , while they be allowed own there snuggle up to they go over widely pitch and kovera allskonar formulate and blæbrygði. Is lacking additional hc and dot intone , for all that." If you can read Icelandic, or have any fucking idea what language this is, please drop us a line and let us know. Click read more to see the original text. Original Post: "Kannski örlítið of "hip*" fyrir minn smekk, en þeir mega eiga það að þeir fara yfir víðann völl og kovera allskonar stíla og blæbrygði. Vantar meira hc og punk tóna, þó."

Graf Orlock has never been a band to waste time. Much like any of their other releases there's never a meandering part or ambient build up. Instead it is and always has been no nonsense grind with a touch of hardcore and a tongue puncturing their collective cheeks. Their music remains dead serious but is leavened with a liberal use … Read more

First and foremost, I would just like to state that Graf Orlock, or as tourmates Comadre jokingly refer to them, Crap Orlock, kill it live. Their drummer is fucking on point, and vocalist Kalvin Kristoff is as humorous as he is intense. Plus, it doesn't hurt when you have a basement full of sweaty punks yelling out movie lines like, … Read more

Destination Time Yesterday
Level Plane (2006)

The connection between abrasive, warp speed music and film samples isn't new - for a whole wave of turn of the century hardcore bands, the familiar samples punctuating minute long tantrums were usually the most memorable part of the entire enterprise. But Graf Orlock takes this connection to an entirely new level. Named after the vampiric villain in Nosferatu, Graf … Read more

Jason Schmidt (Graf Orlock) SPB: Rank these listening formats: cd, vinyl, cassette, digital, (other?) Schmidt: I would rank these in the degree to which they are both visually and aurally pleasing. I would say vinyl would be top in that it has an expandable format and has a lot of … Read more
