Hex Poseur, a punk band with broader some Riot Grrl/grungy/alt-rock elements recently released Stunning, the first full-length from the UK-based band, via Manic Kat Records. Today, Scene Point Blank is excited to debut a new video off the record, "Eat It," which adds a sludgy stoner metal-esque tone to the song, which explores sexism in Hollywood culture (and beyond).
The song speaks to larger social issues, but also from very personal experience, delivering a video that's equally down-to-earth, personal and symbolic.
Hex Poseur explains:
This track is very personal for me. In the past few years, I’ve felt very frustrated by people trying to tell me how I should be, trying to control my music and artistic image. For a while I felt like I was somewhat losing control over what my original intention with Hex Poseur was because of various interference from others. There came a breaking point for me which really gave me the confidence to basically just say "Fuck off, I’m gonna do what I want to do,” and that’s what this song is about. I didn’t want to sacrifice my music or image in order to please others anymore. ‘Eat it’ basically just means ‘deal with it’, people usually try and control you or interfere because they are jealous or insecure, so let them be that way. It was a very cathartic track to write and really gave me the confidence to be what I wanted to be from the beginning and not let anyone push me around anymore.
