Today Scene Point Blank is excited to premiere a brand new song from Sawchuk, “Gloom Eternal.”

The song is a blast of hardcore with some dirty ol’ r ‘n’ r layered beneath the anger. Fast ‘n’ furious with barked, seething vocals.

The song comes from their upcoming new album, Modern Love, which releases this summer via Dropping Bombs.

"Lyrically, I think it is important to leave things up to interpretation. I feel like it gives a connection between bands and their listeners,” says vocalist Damon about the new track. “Without going too far into detail, much like the rest of this record, the song is about failure and shortcomings, both personally and collectively. There is something so human about striving towards something great and being so close, yet being so stagnant and distant."

The record itself came together as an indirect result of the pandemic. "In late 2019, with the promise of a small hardcore festival, we got back together for the first time in two years with the intent of dusting off the cobwebs to play a one off, kind of greatest hits set,” the band explains. The festival never happened, but it refueled the group and ultimately led to writing new material about dealing with the emotions and hardships experienced in the past few years. “Modern Love has been cathartic and necessary for all of us, truly giving us purpose in an otherwise unstable world."

Preorders will be available from Dropping Bombs in May.
