Screaming Females and Don Giovanni Records have announced Desire Pathway, a new album and the eighth overall from the trio. The new album will release on February 17.

Describing the idea behind the name, Marissa Paternoster, guitar/vocals, explains: “Maybe there was one in your neighborhood growing up, a corner where everyone decided it took too long to go around, so they made their own pathway to cut through...There’s this cool unsaid group consciousness that comes together where everyone decides, this is the right way to go.”

Now a band for 18 years, the band retains its original 2005 lineup that formed in New Brunswick, NJ. Desire Pathway was recorded with Matt Bayles at Pachyderm Studios.

Listen to "Brass Bell," the lead single, below.

Screaming Females last released All At Once in 2018, with Paternoster releasing a solo record recently as well.

The band has multiple tours booked for the coming year, including dates with Genacion Suicida and The Mimes.

Desire Pathway
Don Giovanni (2023)

The lead song and first single on Desire Pathway” is “Brass Bell,” a fine song that’s indicative of Screaming Females’ general sound. That said, it’s really the second song, “Desert Train,” which gets this album rolling for me. It’s a fierce guitar song that’s hard and driving. Just like its name, it’s steeped in classic rock but with modern twists. Namely, … Read more

All right, might as well just get this done and over with. There's been a lot of hype surrounding this three-piece Jersey group and I for one never thought it warranted. Then again, I'm not a hipster and never cared about the hype that came with any band. Hype is for people that need to think what they are about … Read more
