Slayer, The Flaming Lips Win Grammy Awards

Slayer took home the Grammy for Best Metal Performance for their song "Eyes of the Insane." It was the band's second nomination and first time winning. Other notable winners included The Flaming Lips for Best Rock Instrumental Performance and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical), Red Hot Chili Peppers for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, Gnarls Barkley for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance, T.I. for Best Rap Solo Performance, Ludacris for Best Rap Album, Lewis Black for Best Comedy Album, Adam Jones (Tool) for Best Recording Package, Rick Rubin for Producer Of The Year (Non-Classical).
