Mastodon have confirmed via their website that they are in fact working on the film score to the upcoming Jonah Hex film. The band is currently working alongside composer John Powell and director Jimmy Hayward. Also of note, guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds will make a cameo in the film. Mastodon continue to tour the world in support of their full-length, Crack the Skye.
