Madball Announce New Drummer

Posted June 25, 2010, 2:38 p.m. in Bands by Jon E.

Drummer Jay Weinberg, who has been playing live with Madball for several months, has apparently joined Madball as a full-time member for the foreseeable future.

As you may already know, Weinberg is the son of Max Weinberg, drummer for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and bandleader for Conan O'Brien. A long-time hardcore fan, Jay Weinberg recently told Drum! Magazine, "Having grown up as a huge fan of hardcore and the New York scene, it's an honor to play with the most talented individuals that this genre has to offer!"

Meanwhile, Freddy Cricien had the following to say to Drum!: "I'm very excited to have Jay on board. Regardless of his pedigree, he had to try out like anyone else. He proved that he's a natural!"
