Details Emerge for GWAR B-Q 2014

On Saturday, August 16 the 5th annual GWAR B-Q will take place at Hadad's Lake in Richmond, Virginia. Despite the March passing of frontman Dave Brockie, a.k.a. Oderus Urungus, the day-long bash will still take place and the titular band will headline once again. According to an announcement on gwarbq.com, "longest-tenured Beefcake the Mighty, Mike Bishop will serve as GWAR's primary mouthpiece." Other bands on the bill include Body Count, Hatebreed, Goatwhore, Revocation, Noisem, and the Meatmen. A full list of bands can be found after the jump.

In addition to a Saturday schedule that includes bands spread across two stages and vendors hawking GWAR's signature barbecue sauce and GWAR beer as well as the annual Spew-O-Lympics, a funeral service for Oderus will be held the day before on Friday, August 15. A Viking funeral is planned in which Oderus Urungus' "form will burn upon the SS Boat as he makes his journey back to Valhalla and beyond," the band's website states.

Also recently announced is the B4BQ and GWafter Party to be held on Friday and Saturday respectively. Bands for the after party have yet to be announced, but the B4BQ will feature performances by The Black Dahlia Murder, Mobile Death Camp, Gritter, Venomous Maximus, and The Attack.

Tickets for the festival start at $45. For more information, visit gwarbq.com
