A July 8th release has been set for the Joe Strummer (John Graham Mellor) documentary DVD titled The Future is Unwritten. The biopic was directed by Julian Temple and features an overview of Strummer's entire life as narrated by Strummer himself from his BBC radio show. The film also includes anecdotes from friends and collaborators including Mick Jones, Steve Jones, Bono, Topper Headon, Pearl Harbour, Don Letts, Joe Ely, John Cusack, Johnny Depp, Flea, Matt Dillon, Martin Scorsese, Steve Buscemi, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Courtney Love, Anthony Kiedis, Jim Jarmusch, Lucinda Mellor and many others. The DVD will also contain a commentary by Temple as well as additional footage that didn't make it to the theatrical release.
