Down/Pantera Bassist Diagnosed With Pancreatitis

Posted by Michael on September 4, 2009

Former Pantera and current Down bassist Rex Brown has been diagnosed with acute Pancreatitis and will be undergoing a surgical procedure to help alleviate his condition. Brown is expected to make a full recovery. He will, however, miss the remainder of Down's current North American tour;  Danny Theriot (ex-Victorian Blitz) is currently filling in for Brown.  Here is what he had to say:

I miss being with my brothers on tour but we're all cool with the fact that I need to take care of myself at this time. I miss them, the music, and, of course, you, the fans. But most importantly, I look forward to getting back into the studio with DOWN when I'm 100% healthy.
