Tony Wilson (R.I.P.)

Tony Wilson, founder of the highly influential Factory Records and Haçienda Nightclub, passed away yesterday in Manchester as a result of a heart attack due to complications arising from kidney cancer. Wilson was 57 years old. Wilson, co-founded Factory Records with Alan Erasmus in 1978 and released albums from such notable artists as Joy Division, The Happy Mondays, New Order, and A Certain Ratio, among others.
