Inert is an ex-members of band from Los Angeles. This 7" is the band's debut offering and boasts six tracks of metallic, groove-laden hardcore. Musically this reminds me of No Warning and Cold World
but not as good, and I don't even like either of those bands. If that's what you're into, then you'll probably enjoy what these guys have

had to offer... as apparently this band is on hiatus now. Bottom-line, Inert is nothing special, but it's not horrible.
Contention, I would argue, has spent the last few years at or near the top of the heap of the return to 90's styled Straight Edge Metalcore.
