Oddateee is the first artist signed to Dälek's Deadverse Recordings label. As a result of this I instantly knew the music, lyrics, and delivery would not be your everyday rap/hip-hop

and that is a good thing.

Halfway Homeless is an intriguing mash of traditional hip-hop with that of jazz and noisy indie rock. Over the course of these twelve songs, Oddateee delivers a fresh twist on hip-hop, giving his own version of what can be considered offbeat and underground, but still catchy and mainstream. Lead off track "Crackrock" brings to mind early Wu-Tang Clan, especially the style of Ol' Dirty Bastard. Single "Ricans" is super catchy, the beat and chorus has been pounding through my head non-stop. Oddateee really shows his rhyming skills on "My Ex." His never-ending flow partnered with the musical backdrop reminds of Deltron.

Halfway Homeless is a solid release that continues to prove that underground hip-hop is actually light-years ahead of it's mainstream auto-tune dependent counterpart.

Amy Beth And Thee Creeps

Shitheel EP
Chaputa! Records (2026)

Sometimes I like to come into a record as a blank slate. Amy Beth And Thee Creeps sent me a short email with their latest EP, Shitheel. It's a 4-song garage-punk ripper that's easily under 10 minutes. I just checked: it's five and a half minutes. With no bio, the music speaks for itself and this is rhythmic, pulsing garage … Read more
