Deathstench has done much to make their name in the underground world of blackened noise. This EP contains a solitary 13 minute song. While for some the length may be a turn off, you may put aside your expectations right now. This solitary track is contained in packaging that makes it worth the price alone. On a 3" cd encased in a cloth pocket with screenprinting on it makes a perfect match for what is inside.

The writin,g both in and out, looks to reference both runes and Theban typesets. This gives a sense of both mystery and menace. What is inside is only going to cause more of that mixed reaction for the uninitiated. The track swelters with deep, distorted vocals covered with static guitars and hidden percussive elements. All of these pieces play their own role to make for a complete piece. The far away sound of a church bell tolling makes the song even more menacing. This piece alone makes the slow doomy feeling of the track feel palpable.

The project feels like a continuation of what Deathstench has been doing while also acting as a piece unto itself. The project consists of 2 members of Welter In Thy Blood with help from an ex-member of Sutekh Hexen. These members, alone along with these band, as reference may give you slight idea of what your ears are in for but only a slight one.

The duo that comprise this project are often found contributing to a multitude of other dirty and rotten bands, most notably Welter In Thy Blood, but also The Slaughtered Lamb and Pro-Death, and how they … Read more
