Heavy Hearted – Heavy Hearted — Farewell Party, 2008

Heavy Hearted is based out of Rochester, NY. It's been quite some time since I've heard anything new from that area of the state. But, then again, sometimes the good things come to those who wait.

This 7" release is, from what I can gather, a companion release to the band's debut full-length, Overcast, which was released earlier this year. All four songs can be found on that release, so this record is for the collector types in the hardcore community. What you get is four tracks of blistering hardcore with the occasional melodic moment. "Overcast" is the standout cut. Fans of This is Hell and Killing the Dream should investigate this band.

Heavy Hearted is still a young band, so for them to be this good right now is a sign of good things to come. If you get a chance, grab this or their LP. Be on the lookout for this band to explode soon.

Once I read that bit of … Read more
