Last year I declared this release from Living Hell as one of the top demos that got upgraded to an actual release. After seeing a release via Rock Vegas Records on CD and A389 Records on vinyl format last year, the album has been re-released as a 7" again, this time by the good people at Lockin' Out.

If you're unfamiliar with the group. Living Hell hail from Connecticut and feature former members of Clevo-influenced bands Dead Wrong and Fear Tomorrow. Did you really think they'd be influenced by any other bands with names like that? The five songs that comprise Pavor Nocturnis definitely continue the sound heard in their former bands. The music is meaty hardcore with a metal edge to it and is deeply rooted in the mid-90's style. Lyrically, Craig Mack follows in a long line of Holy Terror influenced vocalists.

If you missed this release the first two times, now is the time to stop slacking and pick up a copy. Living Hell is one of the best artists in the hardcore scene right now, and their upcoming full-length on Revelation Records is one of my most anticipated albums.

Revelation Records has made quite the turn-around in the past two years. Besides mainstay Shai Hulud, the once hardcore-proud label has returned to its roots following a divergence in the indie-rock realm - Elliot, Christiansen, Since By Man, etc. The label has recently released several top-quality hardcore albums: Shook Ones, Down to Nothing, and Sinking Ships.
