Don't be fooled by the name, this isn't a Good Charlotte cover band. HARD HARD. Anyways, this EP didn't get me incredibly pumped up, but it certainly was something worth listening to. Imagine Grade with less melody, and vocals that sound like Jeffrey Madeira from Poison the Well with lower production value. The Young and the Useless certainly aren't my new favorite band, but I'm interested to hear what they're going to put out when they get to improve on the production value, and improve a bit more as a band. They get an extra point for covering Journey's "Anyway".

I am not sure if I should hate the singer or the band. The singer, whilst having a good screaming voice, doesn't really stray from it. The band is infusing hardcore with pop punk. After getting through the CD all the way I decided I hate the band more. Reason? For dragging this poor guy into such a shitty band. Sloppy double bass fills, really bad attempt to infuse genres, and just an uncertainty of what they want to be.

Word of advice bro: Quit this band. Let them keep their shitty band and their shitty name. You can do MUCH better.

The only band I've known to infuse such two genres together well is Boys Night Out. Let them be the only ones to do so. They do get credit for covering Journey's "Anyway" at the end of the CD. Had to be the singer's idea.

As the drums kicked in, literally, my third sense was exposed to the vocals of this young majesty. The kind of majesty that upon a first meeting you love. You share your food with them and eventually you say goodbye. Upon the next few meetings you grow tired and kick him in the stop button, but it keeps on going. And that's what the vocals were like. They are good at screaming, but they are so flat, and don't change at all. If you do like them, then you will be showered with monotonous love. If not, I'm sure the stop button will be your next pressed friend. The instruments produce something that is melodic and metallic hardcore at the same time. Then after 4 songs that sound generic from both speakers, this robotic drum beat comes out of nowhere and singing flies in! Then this is covered up by a cover outro. This album pissed me off. The reason the voice bothered me so much was because it didn't fit with the music at all, in a bad way. This music would've worked with the guy from New Found Glory. In conclusion, no.

A band (or maybe supergroup, in this case) that defies all genre boundaries and just…creates. Alfie Agnew (Adolescents, D.I.) and Sean Elliott (D.I., Mind Over Four) are familiar names from Orange County’s early 80s hardcore and psych-punk scenes, but … Read more

Who Loves The Sun
Flenser (2026)

If Chat Pile were a film, they would be a dark thriller. The kind that builds tension until the end and, once we reach the third act, still might not ever show the killer. It's plodding and intense and, while I just pulled out a genre reference, the best thing about the band is how much they defy conventional musical … Read more

On the tail end of Autogramm’s 2018 tour of Mexico (what little I remember of that week now is a lot of pulque and not a lot of sleep) I visited the one punk record store in CDMX that I found via googling where to buy bootleg punk t-shirts. I’d already visited Venas Rotas Discos earlier on the trip and … Read more
