Eclectic musician Mike Patton has been named to provide the score for writer/director Derek Cianfrance's (Blue Valentine) upcoming The Place Beyond the Pines, staring Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, and Eva Mendes. Patton has previously fronted such rock bands as Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, and Tomahawk, and previously scored A Solitude of Prime Numbers, Crank 2: High Voltage and the short film A Perfect Place.
Patton is currently at work on a new Tomahawk record with a projected release date in the late summer.
