The Melvins, celebrating their 29th year in the business, have introduced a new, abbreviated three-piece line-up dubbed Melvins Lite. The variation features founding members Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover, paired with Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Fantomas) and will release a 10-song record titled Freak Puke on June 5 for Ipecac Recordings.
"The Melvins have a long history of mixing up our line-ups and I think that's what has kept us relevant for so long," Osborne explains. "Consider the Freak Puke record the fifth side of the four-sided Melvins' triangle."
Dunn is also currently at work on the next Tomahawk record. The regular Melvins line-up recently announced a free EP courtesy available in March.
