Founding member and frontman Ben Crw of In Defence has announced his departure from the band.

In Defence released Don't Fuck with the Dungeon Master earlier this year. For good measure we're included his facebook announcement below.

I, Ben Crew (vocalist/founding member of In Defence), have formally decided to step away from the band. I just feel that things have become more of a struggle and less of a creative outlet for me. Things were becoming increasingly frustrating for me and I need a break. I figure now is the time to do so.

That said this band has allowed me to meet and play with many of the bands I grew up listening to, release a fuck ton of records, travel the world and make friends from all different continents. I am very great full for all of it. There are so many memories. I've gotten to work with so many cool people.

I'm not dropping out of the scene. I still plan on playing with NO SKIN and other projects. Who knows ... if I ever feel the itch again I might pick things back up and do a show or whatever. But right now I need to clear my head.

The current members are going to continue playing as In Defence and writing new songs. I'm totally cool with this as In Defence has always been about being able to create and experience for those involved. I have no desire to stop that for anyone else. I have no desire to cause any drama.

Usually I'm on here talking shit and making outlandish claims but rest assured that this is true. I'm not joking. I'm not trolling. I'm not doing this to fuck with anyone. I just wanted to make a public statement and let people know.

Plus I want to eat pizza again. The reign of the taco is over.

Thanks for listening. I really appreciate all of enthusiasm and support over the years!
