It had been 15 years since System Of A Down had released new music -- until the group dropped two new songs, "Protect The Land" and "Genocidal Humanoidz," this week in response to conflict in their ancentral homeland of Armenia.

Motivated by escalating conflict between Artsakh and Azerbaijan, guitarist Daron Malakian wrote, composed, and produced the two new singles which are currently available through digital platforms. Band royalties for the two singles are marked to benefit the Armenia Fund.

"The aggression and injustice being perpetrated against the Armenian people in Artsakh and Armenia by Azerbaijan and Turkey is a human rights violation and a war crime," vocalist Serj Tankian says in a statement. "All of us in System realize this is an existential battle for our people, so this is very personal for us. What we need right now is for the world to put politics aside and support Armenia by sanctioning Turkey and Azerbaijan and recognizing Artsakh."

The video to "Protect The Land," features recent footage of the conflict and protest in Artsakh.

I can't stand them because, generally, when they aren't misinformed fools popularizing redundant attitudes, they are sententious idiots that are just as misguided as victims of their malignant invectives. Generally. Somewhere then, in what is a combative … Read more
