Last.FM Purchased By CBS

Posted by Michael on May 30, 2007

Social-music website Last.FM has been purchased by CBS for a price-tag of $280 million. The online website was founded only five years ago and currently has over 15 million active users logging their current music listens. Last.FM is the latest .com to get snatched up following News Corp's purchase of MySpace for $580 million in 2005 and Google's purchase of YouTube for $1.65 billion last year. What site will be next? Perhaps Comedy Central will purchase Scene Point Blank. We can only hope! Worry not Last.FM-ers, you can still contribute to our weekly stats here. Source: BBC
