Man killed after Agnostic Front show in DC

Posted by Jon E. on October 15, 2010

A 27 year-old man was killed early this morning following an incident at the DC9 Nightclub in Washington D.C., just hours after an Agnostic Front and Mother of Mercy show had taken place there. The victim, Ali Ahmed Mohammed, of Silver Spring, MD, was reportedly denied entry into the nightclub at around 2am, which prompted him to throw something though the club's front window. Several employees chased Mohammed and caught up with him a block or so from the club, at which time he was allegedly beaten. Mohammed was semi-conscious when police arrived, but later died of "blunt force trauma" at Howard University Hospital. Five employees of DC9 have subsequently been charged with second-degree murder. Those arrested and charged are: Daryll Carter Jr., 20; Reginald Philips, 22; Evan Preller, 28; William Spieler, 46; and Arthur Zaloca, 25. More details regarding the killing can be found here. It should be noted that to the best of our knowledge, neither Agnostic Front nor Mother of Mercy had anything to do with this incident, and apparently weren't even on the premises at the time. For their part, DC9 has issued the following statement: "DC9 is deeply saddened by the tragic events that have occurred. Our condolences go out to the family of the victim. We would like to thank our friends, family, and all the employees of DC9. DC9 is a special environment of some of strongest friendships that could only be compared to a close family, which we consider ourselves. We very much look forward to our day in court."
