Beacons Festival To Storm Skipton

Posted by Fin TJM on July 20, 2013

Following on from a successful 2012, North Yorkshire's Beacons Festival looks set to be their biggest year yet, taking place on 16th-18th August. Noted as a diverse, communal event in a quiet location - think Glastonbury beyond the M25 - the lineup has expanded to include some of the hottest names in contemporary music. This ranges from arty rock n' rollers Django Django to gruff Canadian punks Fucked Up, the stabbing rhymes of Michigan rapper Danny Brown and the chilly post-punk of WIRE. Other events include all night literature readings, Q&A sessions with actors and writers, yoga and film showings. Overall, much is on offer for a ticket price more than competitive with the UK's currently money-grubbing festival environment. And with this weather, chuck your boots and grab your sandals, this will be one weekend to remember.

Django Django, Danny Brown, Gold Panda, Fucked Up, Theo Parrish , Eats Everything, David Rodigan Obe, Oneman, Floating Points, Ben Ufo, Moon Duo, Andres, Dutch Uncles, Bondax, Esben & The Witch, Bicep, Egyptian Hip Hop, Machine Drum, Channel One Sound System, Move D, Chad Valley, Jon K (hoya Hoya), Hookworms, Childhood, Temples, Drenge, Wolf Alice, Jaws Thumpers, Wire, Eagulls
