The Sword Finish Up New Album

Posted by Jon E. on April 10, 2010

The Sword have wrapped up tracking their new album. Sessions for the outing took place with producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Isis), while a release later this year is expected. For now, band frontman/guitarist John “J. D.” Cronise recently spoke to Decibel about the effort, offering the following:

“There are things on the record that our fans will be very glad to hear, and there are things they don’t know they’ll be glad to hear until they hear them. I’m not very good at describing sound, especially when it comes to my own band. The album was recorded by Matt Bayles and mastered by George Marino. Google either of those gentlemen and you’ll find an impressive list of credentials. I’d like to think neither of them would’ve worked on this record if they didn’t think it worthy of their resumés.”
