Earth Announce Reissues

Posted by Jon E. on October 1, 2010

Pacific Northwest experimental doom metal legends Earth have been kicking out their crushing, blasted-soil soundscapes for 20 years. A new release gives us everything the band recorded the first time they went into the studio. The EP A Bureaucratic Desire for Extra Capsular Extraction, available now from Southern Lord, contains the entire result of the band's first recording session at Portland's Smegma Studios in 1990. Up above, you can hear the track "Divine and Bright".

Tracks from Bureaucratic Desire have already been released on the Extra Capsular Extractions EP and the Sunn Amps and Smashed Guitar CD, but this is the first time it's all been available in one package, and the tracks have been remastered. Earth leader Dylan Carlson wrote liner notes, and the package includes design from Sunn O)))'s Stephen O'Malley. Tracklist below.

A Bureaucratic Desire for Extra Capsular Extraction:

01 A Bureaucratic Desire for Revenge, Part 1 02 A Bureaucratic Desire for Revenge, Part 2 03 Ouroboros Is Broken 04 Geometry of Murder 05 German Dental Work 06 Divine and Bright 07 Dissolution 1
