Green Day to release "three album trilogy"

California's most popular punk rock sons, Green Day, have announced via Twitter that they intend to release three new records in September, November and January 2013. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong tweeted this:

Ok. Here's the deal. We're making a 3 album trilogy. Not 1. Not 2. But 3 albums. Called ¡UNO! ¡DOS! ¡TRE! Coming September November January

The band's last release was 2009's 21st Century Breakdown, a relatively lukewarmly-received concept album following the similarly conceptual American Idiot in 2004.
