Pitchfork Music Fest Announced First Artists

The first grouping of artists for the 2009 edition of the Pitchfork Music Fest have been announced. The even takes place July 17th through the 19th in Chicago, IL. The line-up thus far is as follows: 7/17 - Built to Spill, The Jesus Lizard, Yo La Tengo, Tortoise 7/18 - The National, Pharoahe Monch, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart 7/19 - Grizzly Bear, The Walkmen, Vivian Girls For the 17th, the theme is "Write the Night: Set Lists by Request." When you buy your ticket, you'll get a confirmation email. That confirmation email will include a link to a page where you can vote on which songs from each band you want to hear. The bands will tailor their set lists accordingly.
