Dead Meadows to share a Levitation session

Dead Meadows will share a live performance as part of the Levitation Sessions series of live performances. Dead Meadows performed their set live from The Pillars of God, located in the mountains near Los Angeles, Ca.

Featuring all three ogitinal members, the set includes songs from the breadth of their discography.

A preview is available online now (embed below) and the full ticketed event airs on February 20 (beginning at just $3.98).

Speaking to the unique setting, Jason Simon explains:

When Steve showed me the all-but-forgotten Pillars of God, tucked away down a mountainside dirt road, we both knew this was a place we needed to play. Dead Meadow has always been a retreat of sorts for us, a sanctuary of creativity and freedom. We learned the Pillars were built with similar ideas in mind, open for all as a place to turn towards an inner world. It seemed only fitting to break the longest period in our twenty year history without performing live at this nearly 100 year old monument. Our music echoed out into the night and traveled across the tree tops in the valley below. Come join us here, all are welcome.

A one-time Kinks live play

Next Friday, January 29, The Kinks will present The Moneygoround, a one man show livestream (8 GMT) via YouTube.

The special event comes as The Kinks celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their eight studio album Part 1. Lola Versus Powerman and The Moneygoround, originally recorded and released in 1970.

Speaking of the play, Ray Davies says:

"The Moneygoround" is a one-man show documenting a character facing the challenging circumstances of making an album under extreme pressure. This play, similar to a psychodrama, follows the ups and downs of the character as he plays out events in his life. He confronts the dark forces surrounding him after falling into an emotional and financial "hole" eventually he is saved by a song after confiding in his friend, Lola.

In addition to the play, the live stream will included additional archive footage, videos, and more.

Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround was recently released in various deluxe packages as part of the anniversary celebration.

Bad Religion looks good at 40

Believe it or not, Bad Religion is turning 40 years-old as a band. To celebrate the milestone the group has a four-part streaming series coming ...

The '80s - Bad Religion performs songs from How Could Hell Be Any Worse, Suffer, and No Control. They discuss what it was like being young punks in a world of Pacman, Reaganomics, and Televangelism.
The '90's - Bad Religion performs songs from Against The Grain, Generator, Recipe For Hate, Stranger Than Fiction, The Gray Race, and No Substance. This decade cemented their position as one of the most influential and prolific bands of our time, but it didn't come easy or without cost; the band discusses the growing pains and lessons learned.
The '00s - Bad Religion performs songs from The New America, The Process of Belief, The Empire Strikes First, and New Maps of Hell. Returning home and charging forward into a new millennium, Bad Religion continued to awe with their prowess, releasing some of their most beloved material to date.
The '10s - Bad Religion performs songs from The Dissent of Man, True North, and Age Of Unreason. The Covid-19 pandemic cut short their plans to tour in support of The Age Of Unreason and are now performing material never seen live before. The band discusses the gratitude they live with every day looking back on 40 years of being Bad Religion and the legacy they are still actively creating. Decades episodes will premiere at 5:00pm EST
