The Nines Festival is coming up on Saturday August 10th, a new multi-arts, multi-stage festival located 35 miles west of Boston featuring a diverse lineup of nationally touring musicians and showcases the works of established and emerging visual artists.

Acts already announced include soul inspired folk-rockers Dr. Dog from Philadelphia, alternative singer songwriter Matt Pond, post rock band Explosions In The Sky, Delta Spirit, Shuggie Otis, Walk Off The Earth, rounding off the lineup (so far) is scratch DJ Kid Koala. The festival will feature music performances on two stages with no overlapping sets while the region’s best emerging to established comedians will take up residence under the “Stitch” comedy tent. In addition there will be art installations, exhibits, and interactive art projects curated by art director and RISD alum Christopher Cyr and “art with a re-purpose” visual design visionaries Fireseed Arts. Sited on the lush grounds of Willard Field in Devens, Massachusetts, The NINES is conveniently accessed directly off of Route 2, just 35 miles west of Boston and a short drive from Worcester, Lowell and southern New Hampshire. Gates will open at noon with entertainment starting at 1:00.

Take Care, Take Care, Take Care
Temporary Residence (2011)

Explosions In The Sky proudly create post-rock music that, though sounding simple, is far from being simplistic. Sonics aside, even the illustrious art works of each of their six studio album covers indicate the sort … Read more
