California duo Spoknest are self-releasing a new LP next year and they've given Scene Point Blank the honor or debuting two new videos from the forthcoming album.
Titled Gone, Gone Gone, they are aiming for an early 2016 release date, potentially March, with Drunken Sailor taking care of European distribution. The band is offering a "pay-what-you-want-for-whatever-you-want" sale of their merchadise to help fund its release.
Here's what guitarist/vocalist Daryl has to say about the record:
The title Gone, Gone, Gone is a lyric from the track "Gone" and, in the context of that song, refers to the absolute dissolution of any sense of patriotism that was instilled in me as a child. But when naming the album, it was chosen because it seemed to encompass the broader sense of ideas and emotions explored. A lot of the songs deal with suicide, relationships ending, and other forms of massive life changes that are not for the better.
While we typically try to offer some kind of optimism hiding in the stark, realist lyrics, Im not sure if that is there this time. Maybe next record? Hopefully by then every cop will be in jail.
