Alice in Chains, currently on the road (in New York tonight), have released a video for "The One You Know" from their upcoming (and still to be titled) album. "The One You Know" is embedded below and will be the first track on the new release.

Vocalist/guitart Jerry Cantrell recently said of the new album:

It’s a record we haven’t done yet, but it’s also a record that has all the elements of anything you would expect from us. It’s got our fingerprint. And we’re really proud of the material we wrote and the performances we captured. There’s some really heavy sh*t, some really ugly stuff, some real beautiful stuff, some weirdo trippy sh*t…it’s good.

The band last released The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here in 2013. The new album will be on BMG.

Rainier Fog

It’s been 12 years since Alice In Chains reactivated with vocalist William DuVall - making his time in the band roughly twice that of Layne Staley, but the shadow left by Staley was cast dark and long across the band’s last two albums Black Gives Way To Blue and The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. Both competent albums that for better … Read more

The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
Capitol (2013)

I'll admit, I'm a bit of a purist; though I didn't think it was a bad release, Black Gives Way to Blue always seemed to pale in comparison to Alice in Chains's earlier works. On some level, that's not entirely fair--without Staley, they are an entirely different band, and not necessarily even trying to recapture who they were before. But then again, … Read more
