We’re wishing everyone a happy Thursday with this new lyric video from Lightweight, a Sacramento-based melodic punk band that wears its heart on its sleeve (with a whiskey in hand).

Which brings us to “Whiskey Is Not A Jacket,” the first single the band has let loose from their upcoming 5-song EP called This One’s On Me.

"We see each other as friends before bandmates,” says drummer Jake. “We spend a lot of time outside of the band communicating and sharing experiences so when the world got crazy(er) it was important that we maintained, what we think is the true essence of our art, love and appreciation for each other. We have countless memories as friends but our trip to a cabin for a week was one of the most memorable,” as he shares the origin of this track.

“Sometimes songs just happen when everyone is on the same level and 'Whiskey is Not a Jacket' is a prime example of that."

The song is a more reflective jam that captures the band’s spirit at mid-tempo. Overall the EP mixes things up with uplifting melodies, downer moments and a bit of everything in between.

Self-released, This One’s On Me comes out on March 4.

This One's On Me track listing:

1. Plaza Ave.
2. Whiskey Is Not A Jacket
3. 21 Grams Between Us
4. Bummers, Drive-Ins, and Vibes
5. Insomnia
