Titled A Wandering Path: The Story Of Gilead Media, a documentary of the Wisconsin-based independent label has two upcoming screenings in New York state.
The film is directed by Michael Dimmitt (read about his film work), and focuses on Adam Bartlett, owner and operator of the label, co-owner and curator of Migration Festival, and owner of two independent record stores called Eroding Winds, plus the bands that make the label what it is.

Dimmitt states:
The family of bands and friends that Adam Bartlett brought together through his label was very special to me, and the decade that I spent touring around the world with Mutilation Rites, that allowed me to make all these personal connections to people in this scene, was a very important part of my life. I knew this chapter of my life was coming to a close as the inevitable split of the band was imminent, so I seized this opportunity to capture this moment in time before it passed us all by. Other documentaries I’ve worked on have consisted of people talking about the old days. I wanted to instead capture the moment fresh as it was happening. I just had an overwhelming desire to make this film, DIY style.
Bartlett adds:
Michael (Dimmitt) has somehow managed to highlight everything that's positive about running a label and captured an amazing visual snapshot to accompany our very unique corner of the music world, documenting it to live alongside the music forever.
