Do you like rock 'n' roll music? We like rock 'n' roll music. And today we're debuting a brand new video for "George Romero Got Flesh Right" from The Triceratops, a duo with a misleading tri-name from Brooklyn, NY, and recent signee to Learning Curve Records.

The combo of Josh Lozano (drum) and John Van Atta (guitar), use intricate drum patterns to flesh out the sound a fill perceived voids bu using their instruments in unique waves.

Today's new video is from the band's upcoming EP, out on May 10, available on cassette + limited edition coffee mug. They will also release a full-length album on Learning Curve this summer.

Van Atta gives us the dirty details behind the song:

I think the Dawn of the Dead captures the moment our culture lost hope, when we transitioned from thinking the future was jetpacks to thinking no future. That happens to correspond with the dawn of neoliberalism. There’s no such thing as society, and we’re all consumers fending for ourselves.

At my day job, sometimes a kid will get upset and bite you. There were times I thought I was going to lose a big chunk of flesh, but they never broke the skin. But the first time I watched Dawn Of The Dead after having been bitten, and the zombies could easily rip off a big chunk of flesh, it felt so true -- even though it wasn’t. I think that’s because it feels like our existence. We’re fragile creatures in a harsh and powerful universe.

He adds:

Aaron Dunkel has done great videos with Guided by Voices, and his found footage collage style is perfect for this song. There’s a lot from Night of the Living Dead and Carnival of Souls]. The images he picks work so well against the music. He does these super quick edits over snare rolls—they’re like image rolls.

Check out the video below, and check out the band at Caterwaul festival on May 24-27 in Minneapolis, MN, which also features Brainiac, Whores., Oxbow, Murf, Thrones, and many more. Expect more live dates from The Triceratops this summer.
