Amy Bell is a singer songwriter from Yorkshire, England. A self-taught musician at 21 years old, she has begun to make a name for herself and often plays at charity events and local festivals. Known for her unusual voice, this indie artist released her second EP, titled Want Me, on June 26th, 2026 on Warren Records. This 4 song collection deals with mental health, relationships, and global issues. Amy says this EP, “.....represents my growth as a musician as I’ve struggled to make sense of the world around me in recent years”.

The EP begins with a track of the same title, “Want Me”. I’m immediately drawn to the smoky, uniqueness of Amy Bell’s vocals. The music has a sort of dreamy trace quality to it and piqued my interest more so than the lyrics. By the third run through - I really enjoyed the instrumentals, but wished that there was more of a storytelling element behind the verses to help me connect emotionally to what was being sung.

“Millhouse” is the next song to play and it is seemingly about processing trauma. I think that this has the bones of being a good song. Again, I find myself drawn more to the music than the words. The simplicity of the lyrics begin to feel anticipated at this point.

The third track was my favorite called “Time”. It’s about loss and coming to terms with the ending of relationships. As the song advances, so does the healing that time provides. I connected the most with this one. I really liked the contrast of vocals and backing music, there were portions that were very Stevie Nicks-esque.

The EP ends with the track “What Happened To Flag Day.” It is 60 seconds of feeling powerless in the current state of the world. I think that everyone can collectively agree with that sentiment.

As a teenager in the 90’s, I filled my days with the likes of Ani DiFranco, Tori Amos, and Fiona Apple. So I was definitely keen to check out this EP since it seemed along the same vein. I have to admit though, that it fell short and did not meet my expectations. The lyrics were predictable and every couplet ended in a simple rhyming word. I do hear talent and I did really enjoy Amy Bell’s voice. I feel that her song writing will continue to mature as she continues to play and grow as an artist. I would definitely check out her next album to hear the progression.

Six blokes who survived the Mark E. Smith sausage-squeezing meat grinder, plus a beautiful Blue Orchid for good measure. But if you’re turning up to Inklings expecting some pathetic karaoke penny on the eyes wake, you’re completely barking up the wrong great Deku tree. Not a tribute act. It’s a cash-in-hand inheritance from a filthy-rich uncle… let's call him Uncle … Read more

If I Die Today

I Felt Nothing
Independent (2026)

Sometimes post-hardcore stops feeling emotional and just becomes noise for the sake of noise. If I Die Today understands that line better than most bands operating in this space. Their newest albume, I Felt Nothing is undeniably aggressive, messy, loud, and volatile, but underneath all the abrasion is a band with a very clear sense of purpose. This Northern Italian … Read more

Australian Neo-proto-punk garagerockers ECSR released 11 new songs in May without much, if any, fanfare and not as some marketing or PR stunt but because they seem to actually give zero fucks.
