Born from Pain (Andries Beckers)

What are your top five albums that were released in 2008?

  1. Terror - The Damned, The Shamed
  2. Slipknot - All Hope is Gone
  3. Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God
  4. Metallica - Death Magnetic
  5. Immortal Technique - The 3rd World

What band did you discover in 2008 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

Actually, I didn't discover that many bands this year, or at least nothing I can think of right now, but must say I re-discovered a lot of Motorhead stuff, Blood For Blood, and The God Machine records.

How will you remember 2008? (In terms of music)

I joined Born From Pain in 2008, so obviously that was in terms of music the most important thing that happened to me

Vinyl record sales saw a significant increase this year while hard copy sales continued to dwindle. Is this a return to the glory days for vinyl or just a phase? Explain.

I don't think it will be a return to the glory days, because vinyl has become too much of a collector's thing but it's yet another sign of the devaluation of CD's. People just want something more or something else for their money because you can get the record without any problem on download-sites or just regular blogs.

What was the most memorable moment for you in 2008? (Can be in terms of anything)

Playing an amazing show at With Full Force 2008 with Born From Pain and the birth of my godchild Amy.

What can we look forward to from you in 2009?

Born From Pain headlining shows and tours all over Europe, Touring North-America, A US vinyl release of "Survival" on Reaper Records and a lot of festivals during summer.

What three records are you looking forward to most in 2009?

Heaven and Hell, Mastodon, and The Setup
