Trevor Bebee (Mercy Ties)

SPB: Any new thoughts, perspectives, or memories of this tour as you prep for a new round on the road?

Bebee: Yeah, from 2013 to 2024 my perspective on playing in a touring hardcore band has changed a lot. Since being inactive for so long, I really miss just hanging out with my friends, joking around and meeting interesting people. Ya know, back then I really wanted to do the thing -- just get in the van and play a lot and expect the band to work.

What I realize now is I should have spent more time writing more music I was proud of, make sure we have records we believe in, THEN try to tour a lot. Making art that you love is work. You have to be disciplined to some degree and spend dedicated hours on it to open that door to creativity. Reflections and Criticisms, to me, is the fruition of that sentiment. It's the first record that I feel is an authentic representation of the band. Now I'm just looking forward to hanging with my friends and jamming it out. So many Americans lose touch, or never realize, the importance of just doing things you love just to do them. So yea I'm grateful to be able to do this still and go hang with everyone. Throes are super homies and we try to link up with them as often as we can.

The new record is on sale now.

Live dates with Throes:

April 18 - Boise, ID @ Realms
April 19 - San Francisco, CA @ Neck of the Woods
April 20 - Fresno, CA @ Destructive Warehouse
April 21 - Los Angeles, CA @ Genghis Cohen
April 23 - Sacramento, CA @ Cafe Colonial
April 24 - Eugene, OR @ Wandering Goat
April 25 - Portland, OR @ Commonwealth
April 26 - Seattle, WA @ The Black Lodge
