SPB: What were your biggest takeaways from recording your EP Injustice For All? What did you learn and what would that change the process next time around?
Nic: Recording Injustice For All taught us how important planning really is. Since we live in different cities, we record everything ourselves, which means a lot of structure and pre-production before we even meet up. The more prepared we are, the smoother everything runs.
Pre-production became a key part of the process. Tightening arrangements early saved us time and made the recording days more focused. When it’s time to actually record, we make sure to meet up physically. We hang out, cook good food, spend time together and create the right atmosphere. That part matters just as much as the technical side, the vibe ends up on the record.
Maybe the biggest takeaway is that we realized nothing is really impossible if we’re willing to put in the work. That’s something we’re bringing with us as we move forward and aim to make the next record even better.
