The Wonder Years have both a new song and a new Halloween set coming up.

Working with HeadCount.org, the band issued itself the challenge of registering 1,000 new voters, promising a new song if that goal was met -- with leads us to "Brakeless." Not only did the band achieve their goal, but they recorded their newest song in a throwback style reminiscent fo their 2010 album The Upsides.

“I was going through old hard-drives full of demos and voice notes when I stumbled onto an idea I had that never got brought to the band,” vocalist Dan Campbell says, which inspired him to ask: “What if we tried to go back and write songs that sounded like those records? What would that sound like?”

Next Friday, Oct. 30, the band is hosting the Occasionally Annual Halloween Extravaganza, a livestream event where the 6-piece band will split into duelling Blink 182 cover bands.

Check out "Brakeless" below.

Sure, New Found Glory started it all (though they pretty much stuck to pop-punk), but I'll be damned if I haven't heard ten new clones this week alone. Philadelphia's The Wonder Years are the … Read more
