Signals Midwest vocalist Maxwell Stern shared a new solo song today, a single called “Stay Close To Me” with a choris that originated in a dream.
Stern released his second solo record, Good Light, in 2024 and is scheduled to play at XPoNential Music Festival in Camden, NJ this weekend.
"I dreamt the chorus to this song and when I woke up, I tried to convince myself that I was too tired to get up and write it," Stern. says in a press release. "Instead, I groggily stumbled to a guitar and made an early-morning frog-voice demo. I don't remember the whole dream, but I remembered the melody. It's really for anyone who happens to find themselves ridin' on an unfamiliar wave."
Signals Midwest hits the road next month, included a date at FEST 23. The single is available via Lauren Records.
